In this Tutorial you will come to know the basic Products Required To Develop and Deploy an PHP Applications.

To Develop and to deploy an PHP Applications , the following products are Requried:

  1. PHP
  2. A Web Server
  3. Database Server
  4. FTP Client
  5. A Remote DB Administration Tool Etc..
The following installers can be used to install all the above products:
  1. WAMP – Windows Apache MYSQL PHP
  2. LAMP – Linux Apache MYSQL PHP
  3. MAMP – Macintosh Apache MYSQL PHP
  4. XAMPP – Cross Platform Apache MYSQL PHP PERL
To Download WAMP Go to and download the Latest Version for your Operating System. It will be available for 32 bit OS & 64 bit OS. Choose the download according to you OS.
To Download XAMPP Go to and download the Latest Version for your Operating System.
By Default it will be installed in C:\xampp

XAMPP Installs the following Products :

  1. PHP
  2. PERL
  3. APACHE  – Web Server
  4. MYSQL – DB Server
  5. FILEZILLA – An FTP Client
  6. MERCURY – A Mail Server
  7. PHPMYADMIN – A tool Designed in PHP Language for Remote DB Administration
The Server Directory of  XAMPP is C:\xampp\htdocs . This is the Place where all your Project files or Web Files will be Located.

How to start a Apache Server web server :

  1. Open XAMPP control panel from All programs
  2. Click on Start Button of Apache on XAMPP Control Panel

By Default Apache Web Server is working with Default Port of 80, so to change the port number of Apache Web Server from 80 t0 8082 follow the below Procedure:

Open “httpd.conf” file which is present in  C:\xampp\apache\conf

Search for the term ServerName localhost:80 and replace 80 with 8082 and save the file and restart the apache Webserver.
