SBI PO Exam Pattern

SBI PO exam consists of following 3 stages to crack the exam:-




The Preliminary Phase of the examination will consist of the following sections

Preliminary exam of sbi po exam consists of three sections English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability and from English section you will get 30 questions and each question carries 1 Mark and from Quantitative Aptitude you will get 35 questions and each questions carries 1 Mark and from final section Reasoning Ability you will get 35 questions and each question carries 1 Mark. Total there will be 100 questions from all sections, as each question carries 1 Mark total 100 Marks. So each and every section is important.

Note: There will be penalty of one -fourth(1/4th) marks  for each wrong answer in both preliminary and mains exam.There will be negative marking for each wrong answer ,SO No guess work in this exam.

As there is negative marking in the exam you should practice rigorously with a perfect plan and we are giving a weekly schedule dedicating maximum 8 hours and minimum 5 hours for this exam adjust the time table as per your requirement.

If you are weak please try to dedicate max 8 hours so that you will get enough time to complete all the syllabus with in one month. General Awareness/ Banking is the most easiest section in the Mains Exam. To prepare for this section you need to cover Static News and Current Banking (Economy) news of last six months. To get maximum marks (30+) in this section, make a habit of reading and revising the news consistently. You need to divide the topics and plan your schedule to cover all the major significant news.

We would suggest you to cover news from given below topics, which are taken from previous year question papers:-

Practice 3 sets of 5 Questions on each topic on a daily basis. After practicing each day, analyze your scores and mistakes which you have made during the practice session. This rigorous consistent exercise will give you an idea how to approach these topics in exams.

Puzzles + Logical Reasoning – At least practice 3 different types of puzzles & Logical Reasoning Questions on a daily basis during your practice sessions. This will make you confident in attempting difficult puzzles during exam in quick & smart way.

  1. English Section

Most of the students who attempt Mains SBI PO Exam they avoid this section during their practice session.
