This Year 2013, IBPS Planned to Conduct Common Written Examination (CWE) – III on October 19, 20, 26 and 27 respectively For Recruiting PO’s/MT’s for public sector banks. This CWE III PO has a New Pattern Exam when compared to CWE II & CWE I. In the Present Pattern there will be only 200 Questions with 2 Hours of Time to Complete it.

So We are addressing some Common queries and shared tips and strategies to crack the upcoming bank entrance exam.

ASKED ON 19th, 20th, 26th & 27th OCT 2013


The structure of the Examination which will be conducted online is as follows:

  • Reasoning – 50 Marks
  • English Language – 40 Marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude – 50 Marks
  • General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry) – 40 Marks
  • Computer Knowledge – 20 Marks


The above tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi

Penalty for Wrong Answers  :

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Scores :

The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using equi percentile method.

Cutoff  Score :

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cutoffs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview.

We feel, a candidate should devote atleast 3-4 hours daily, consistently for 2-3 months, to get Good success in IBPS exams. These 3-4 hours can be any time, evening, morning or afternoon. But If your’e not able to Spend those hours, at least you have to Spend 2 Hours a Day for 1-2 Months.


In Present scenario IBPS PO is a very competitive exam and you should not take any chance, even if it costs you some amount. In our opinion, good coaching classes can be really beneficial to get good Score in IBPS and also helps for time Management For Different Sections.

1.Computer Knowledge :

Computer Knowledge is highly Scoring section in IBPS POs and RRB (Regional Rural Banks). English language section tests your English language ability. You need to read at least one daily English newspaper to improve your knowledge and refer some books for this section also. Learning one comprehension a day, Learning 20-30 words a day with its synonyms and anonymous would help to score better in this section.

4.General awareness:

General Awareness is one of the Scoring Subject in IBPS Exams. So Aspirants have to concentrate little tricky to score More. Most of the Questions of Banking Awareness comes from recent Banking issues and Economy issues(up to 6-8 Months before date of notification released).

5. Reasoning Section :

Reasoning section tests your mental aptitude and skills in attempting the questions and your observing power also. This section also judges your decision making ability. It requires just your concentration. You need to make a mind map for each question and ultimately you will reach to your answer. This section is also a scoring one. So, maximum practice is needed to deal with various figure problems and mirror images.
